The firm’s attorneys have substantial experience with respect to representing these clients and class members in various types of high-profile and complex class actions. Among other accomplishments:
- In February 2007, Drubner & Hartley was among a number of firms that successfully obtained court approval for a $121 million settlement with Zurich Insurance in a class action lawsuit alleging that the Zurich insurers, and others, violated federal and state antitrust laws, the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), and common law due to their alleged improper use of contingent commissions fees.
- Similarly, in August 2007, Drubner & Hartley was also among a number of firms that successfully obtained court approval for a $28 million settlement with Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. based on the same alleged misconduct.
- In In re Managed Care, Drubner & Hartley served on the plaintiffs’ steering committee and helped bring about significant reform in the managed care industry for the benefit of physicians and their patients. The settlements resulting from this litigation have exceeded one billion dollars.
- In the Colonial Realty Company case, attorneys at Drubner & Hartley litigated against Arthur Andersen and other defendants for nearly a decade to achieve a settlement of more than $120 million.
- As class counsel in the Prudential Sales Practice Litigation, the firm was part of a group of plaintiff’s firms that obtained a recovery for defrauded insureds in excess of two billion dollars.
